Fiscal Cliff and Political Incompetency....

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/11/house-gop-sends-counter-offer-to-white-house-on-the-fiscal-cliff/?hpt=hp_t2

This whole "Fiscal Cliff"  nemesis has been out there for about a year now, I think maybe a little longer actually, and Broehner and Obama have met ONE time during this period to address this.  Nevermind, that this is perhaps the biggest threat to economic recovery - at least in the short term - the country has faced for months.  There is not a reputable financial or economic entity or individual out there that actually thinks this cliff is a good thing.  Most, if not all credible sources are saying this could very easily, and indeed most likely will, cost the USA another recession.  Personally, I am inclined to think every politician with a role in this out to simply be fired due to incompetency and professional negligence.  There is absolutely no reason for this.  Of course, it would help matters tremendously if the general public had a clue about economics - which many, if most do not.  An ignorant constituency cannot expect to be saved from itself.  I don't know how many people  voted on the understanding that our national deficit had been cut in half in the last 4 years, and/or that the current economy was primarily due to the previous administration.  And, word has it, Bill Clinton's argument on why the economy is in a mess was widely met with approval and/or agreement; not exactly a legitimate assessment.   St. Joseph, Patron of Workers, Pray for us! :)
